How to file a Claim for ACKO General Insurance Plans?

Car Insurance

ACKO provides both cashless claims and reimbursement claims for Car Insurance. These claims can arise in different situations as follows

Damage

  • Log on to company’s website or mobile app and click “Claim Now”
  • For cashless claims in select locations, the car is picked up by the company's team within one hour and sent to a network garage.
  • Track the repair on mobile app
  • The car is repaired and delivered in 3 days.
  • Sometimes the company may appoint a surveyor to assess the damage to the car and the claim is approved after a careful examination.
  • Minor damages are reimbursed by the company.

Third-Party Claim

  • The third-party files a FIR at the local police station.
  • The policy holder shares the details of the policy with the third-party.
  • The company is informed with all the details of the accident.
  • ACKO deals with any legal notice by the Motor Accident Claim Tribunal on the policy holder’s behalf.
  • MACT decides the compensation and the company settles the claim.

Own Damage by Third-Party

  • Get the car insurance details of the third party.
  • File an FIT at the local police station.
  • Inform the company with all the details of the accident.
  • MACT decides the compensation and the third party insurance company settles the claim.

Theft

  • File an FIR and inform the company immediately.
  • Upload the car's registration number, FIR copy and driving license.
  • If police are unable to find the car, a non traceable certificate is issued. Submit the certificate to the company.
  • The company settles the claim as per the policy.

Bike Insurance

  • Click a picture of the damaged bike and upload it to the ACKO app or website.
  • The company will asses the damage
  • Minor repairs are done on the spot or reimbursed
  • For cashless claims the company will pickup, repair and drop the repaired bike

Health Insurance

  • Inform your TPA
  • Fill the claim form and attach all the required documents
  • For cashless claims, go to a network hospital only and submit a pre-authorisation form with the help of your TPA for claim approval.
  • For reimbursement claims, hospital bills and discharge summary is required along with claim form.
  • Once you submit all the documents your claim is approved and reimbursed.

Electronics Insurance

For mobile phones, ACKO offers 4 modes of settlement

  • Cashless repair - you can take your phone to any of the network service centres and get a cashless repair done.
  • Advance Cash Settlement - Select this option from the type of settlement in the app and a pre-approved amount is displayed. Provide your bank details, a video of the damaged phone. Once the claim is approved you will get the amount transferred to your bank account.
  • Pick and Drop - If you choose this option, provide a convenient date and address for pick-up. Your mMobile phone will be picked up and sent to an authorisedto authorised service centre and will be delivered after the repair is done.
  • Reimbursement - Upload picture of the repaired phone and the repair invoice from a n authorised service centre. Once the claim is approved, the amount is reimbursed to the bank account provided by the policyholder. For appliances, ACKO provides either at home repairs or inspection and reimbursement
