Eligibility criteria vary depending on the type of vehicle an individual wants to learn to drive.

  • A private motor vehicle applicant for a learning license should be above the age of 18 years.
  • Driving license for a motor vehicle not exceeding an engine capacity of 50cc is issued to an individual who is above the 16. Applicants who are less than 18 years have to obtain a written consent from their parent or guardian.
  • Learning license for driving a commercial vehicle is issued to an individual who is above the age of 20 years.
