1. Sahara Life Suraksha Kavach

Features :

  • The minimum age is 18 years, and maximum age is 50.
  • Policy Term starts from a minimum of 15 years and maximum up to 20 years.
  • The maximum age of insured should be of 65 years.
  • The minimum sum assured Rs. 5 Lakh.
  • The premium paying term - Regular premium.
  • Flexibility in paying premiums - Yearly/half-yearly/Quarterly/Monthly.
  • The nominee receives the sum assured in the case of an untimely demise of an insured during the policy term.
  • Death Benefit - Lump Sum payout of 100% sum assured is paid to the nominee.
  • Tax Benefits- As per the Section 80C and 10(10D) under the Income Tax Act, the for premiums and the payouts are tax deductible
  • No Maturity benefits.
  • Customize with Accidental Death Rider- In the case of an accidental death of the insured, an additional amount in addition to the basic sum assured given the nominee.

Exclusions of Sahara Term Insurance


  • If the insured commits suicide within one year from the date of commencement/reinstatement/revival of the Policy, the policy will terminate and become void and nothing shall be payable.

  • Post-mortem & chemical viscera report (if performed)
  • Police reports/ F.I.R in case of an unnatural death

FAQ’s on Sahara Term Insurance

What if I'm unable to pay premiums on time?

There is a grace period of 30 days. However, it is advisable to pay before due dates to avoid policy termination.

Is there a Grace period in case of premiums not paid on time?

There is a Grace period of 30 days in case of yearly, half-yearly, and quarterly premium mode. For monthly premiums mode grace period is 15 days.

What if the life insured dies during Grace period ?

The policy will be still valid and in force. Thus, the sum assured shall be paid to the nominee. But after the deduction of outstanding premiums till the next policy anniversary.

Is there any policy Surrender Benefit?

No. There is no Surrender Value.

What if I couldn't pay the premiums and got discontinued?

After the Grace period, if the policy terminates. However, the policy can be revived within 5 years from the due date of first unpaid premium.
