The RTO of Chennai functions under Section 213 of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. This department was established to implement the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, 1963. RTO of Chennai primarily permits the road transport to behave very uniquely for becoming the best transport mode for shorter distances that can help to link rural, sub urban region to cities. With a motive to offer economic, sufficient and excellent transport services, Andhra Pradesh Transport Department offers a helping hand to Chennai RTO as well as some other states.
