The RTO department is headed by the transport commissioner and is responsible to carry out organised public transport system in the city of Lucknow which is the capital of the state Uttar Pradesh.
A car insurance policy is mandatory for every vehicle registered at Lucknow RTO as per The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
