Aadhaar Update History

UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has been authorized with the responsibility to make provisions for enabling individuals to check and track changes that they’ve made on their Aadhaar card by accessing UIDAI’s official website.

How to Check Aadhaar Update History Online?

You can check your Aadhaar update history online by visiting the official website of UIDAI. Here are the steps you need to follow to check your Aadhaar update history:

  • Step 1: Visit the official portal of UIDAI or click here
  • Step 2: Click on the option named ‘Aadhaar Update History’ under the ‘Aadhaar Update’ section

  • Step 3: Mention either your Aadhaar number or your Virtual ID, followed by the Security Code displayed. If you are unable to understand the code, you can click on the ‘Try Another’ option, so that a new security code gets generated.

  • Step 4: Next, choose whether you want the system to send an OTP to the mobile number that you have registered with Aadhaar or generate a TOTP from the mAadhaar app
  • Step 5: If you choose the ‘Send OTP’ option, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Otherwise, if you have selected the ‘Enter TOTP’ option, you will have to mention the time-based OTP generated in the mAadhaar app as a part of the authentication process
  • Step 6: Click on the ‘Submit’ option
  • Step 7: You will be able to view your entire Aadhaar update history, irrespective of whether you had made those updates in biometric data, or through either the online or the offline mode.

What Does Aadhaar Update History Mention?

Here are the details that get displayed under the Aadhaar Update History section:

  • Update Request Number (URN): URN is a unique number that is assigned to every individual, which is generated at the time when you place the request. You will need this URN whenever you want to check the status of the update request in the future
  • Date of Aadhaar Update: The date of submission of the request for updating details in Aadhaar
  • Type of update made in Aadhaar: Demographic, biometric or new Aadhaar update request
  • Photo of the Aadhaar cardholder: Your photograph, that is, the photo of the user is displayed on the screen to confirm the accuracy of your identity

  • You can access all the minute details of the updates you have made till date in Aadhaar.
  • Your Aadhaar update history can be accessed only by you
  • You can check and confirm that there are no inaccuracies in the details regarding the updates made by you in Aadhaar. This feature gives you the opportunity to report such entries to UIDAI, so that you can get them corrected immediately.

How to check Aadhaar update history

Here are some of the things you need to keep in mind while updating your Aadhaar history.

  • Ensure that your mobile number is linked with Aadhaar to be able to avail this facility. Individuals who do not have their mobile number linked with Aadhaar will not be able to view the changes that they have made in Aadhaar.
  • You can opt for the TOTP option, instead of the OTP option, while checking Aadhaar update history if you have downloaded the mAadhaar app in your smartphone. While OTP is sent to your registered mobile number, TOTP is accessible on the mAadhaar app.
  • In the event of inaccurate information regarding updates made in Aadhaar is displayed on your screen, you should immediately report it to UIDAI and get it corrected.
  • The information about all the changes you have made in Aadhaar can only be viewed and cannot be downloaded.
