The applicant will have to submit the above documents at the RTO/R&LA who has issued him the original driving license. In case the applicant is applying for a duplicate DL from another state or city, then a no objection certificate has to be obtained from the licensing authority that issued him the original driving license.
The applicant can obtain a duplicate driving license online through parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/ or by directly visiting the state RTO office.
Applying through parivahan.gov.in/ lets the applicant submit the form and upload the documents online. The process is hassle-free and the applicant can also pay the application fee online. After submitting the documents and the fees online, the applicant will have to visit the RTO along with original documents and on verification of the documents, a duplicate DL will be issued to the applicant.
For applying offline, the applicant will have to visit the RTO, collect the form, fill and submit it along with the required documents. On verification of the documents, the applicant will be issued the duplicate DL within a span of a week or two.
