Star Corona Rakshak Policy comes with a host of benefits. Some of the most highlighting benefits are:

  • Corona Rakshak Plan is a standard-benefit-based individual plan without any sort of plan variant
  • It is only available for individual insured people only
  • The maximum coverage is available as a benefit which is equivalent to a 100% lump sum of the insured sum and is payable on diagnosis of Covid 19 positive, needing a continuous hospitalisation of a minimum of 72 hours
  • The minimum sum insured amount is INR 50000 and the maximum limit is INR 250000. It has to be in multiples of INR 50000
  • The policy term variants are 105 days, 195 days, or 285 days
  • Only a single premium payment mode is allowed

Eligibility criteria for availing of Star Corona Rakshak Health Plan

There are no such eligibility criteria for availing yourself of Star Corona Rakshak Health Insurance. The applicant must be aged between 18 years and not less than 65 years for starting this plan. Other than this age limit, there are no other eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled here.

Claim procedure for Star Health Corona Rakshak Policy

As mentioned earlier, in case of claim settlement of this plan, the insured person needs to be tested positive for Covid 19 by any registered hospital or health centre along with hospitalisation of a minimum of continuous 72 hours. For claim settlement, you need to submit all the relevant documents within 30 days of discharge from the concerned hospital, network or otherwise.

List of documents required to be submitted for claim settlement

The list of documents that you need to submit for settling the claim during hospitalisation for Covid-19 are:

  • An authentic claim form which is duly signed and filed
  • A copy of all the pages of the passport of the insured individual, if available
  • In case the insured person does not possess a passport, then a photo identity proof, preferably an Aadhaar card, PAN card
  • Authentic prescription of a registered medical practitioner, mentioning the advice for hospitalisation
  • The discharge summary from the hospital mentioning all the relevant details and the medical history of the insured individual
  • All the investigation reports as per the doctor(s) prescription from any authorised hospital or health centre
  • One cancelled cheque and details for NEFT
  • When the claim liability is or above INR 1 lakh, then the proposer’s KYC details are essential for maintaining the AML guidelines
  • All other associated documents needed by Star Health Insurance company for authentic assessment of the concerned claim.

Buying Procedure of The Plan

Under the current context, buying any insurance plan is not a big deal. Rather, it has become all the more simple with online mode. All you need is to follow certain few simple steps as mentioned below:

  • The first step is to visit the official website for reviewing and comparing the plan benefits, premium details and coverage essentials
  • The second step is to clarify all the relevant details clearly regarding all the associated charges, exclusions, and inclusions, along with other associated terms and conditions pertaining to the concerned plan
  • The following step includes the proper filling up of the Star Health Insurance proposal form, clearly mentioning all the relevant personal details along with your health profile, ascertaining that all the information entered is 100% correct
  • In the fourth step, the Star Health Insurance Company will duly process the application when and as forwarded to the authorities. - Depending on the details mentioned in the form, the insurer might require you to undergo certain medical diagnoses at any of their network healthcare centres before the commencement of the plan
  • Depending on the evaluation of the company authorities if the proposal seems authentic, only then it will be accepted with the issuance of the policy subjected to the receipt of a single annual premium payment as published on the official website and accepted through the online remittance through the authorised payment gateway
  • The proposer must pay the relevant amount to undergo the necessary investigation and these tests possess a validity of no more than 30 days. However, once the policy gets issued all the costs for a pre-policy check-up will be reimbursed
  • All the policy documents including the policy wordings, policy schedule, health guide, and cashless card will be duly sent to the insured’s registered address.

Exclusions

The factors that are not covered by Star Health Corona Rakshak Policy are:

  • Non-Covid related diagnostic expenses are not covered by this plan
  • If the concerned tested Covid positive before the commencement of the plan, the claim cannot be filed
  • Any Covid testing done in any non-authorised centre, will not be covered
  • Despite the government travel restrictions, if the insured travels to another country and tests Covid positive, no policy of the plan can be availed
  • No Covid-related diagnostic test or treatment received beyond the boundaries of India will be covered.
