Aadhaar is compulsory to avail of a number of services and to authenticate various documents. For the purpose of availing online facilities pertaining to Aadhaar, you need to register your mobile number with UIDAI, which will send the OTP for authentication. If you wish to use the mAadhaar application, your mobile number needs to be registered under Aadhaar. If your previously registered mobile number under UIDAI has been deactivated or if you wish to modify your mobile number in the Aadhaar card details, you need to visit an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Step 1: Visit the official UIDAI website and choose your preferred language.

Step 12: Pay the update fee of ₹50 and collect your acknowledgement slip, which includes a URN (Update Request Number) — use this to track the status of your update.
If you do not have access to your mobile number, but that number was linked to an Aadhaar card, you can make a request to change the mobile number by visiting the enrollment centre. There, instead of OTP, you will be asked to verify your login using your biometric information. After which, you will be given an appointment wherein you can change your mobile number.
To check your Aadhaar card mobile number linking status, you will need to use your URN, which was provided when applying for a change. This URN serves as the link to check the status of your mobile number linking. Here are the steps:
Step 1: Head over to the UIDAI website.
Step 2: Go to "My Aadhaar" and select the "Check Aadhaar Status" option under the "Get Aadhaar" section.
