Linking your 12 digit aadhaar number to your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) has many advantages, especially for those employees who intend to withdraw money from their EPF account. A PF scheme, also known as a Provident Fund, is a plan where the employee and the employer jointly contribute towards a corpus fund which is received by an employee on retirement. The EPF account is represented through a Universal Account Number (UAN). Essentially the UAN has to be seeded with an aadhaar card to link the PF to it.
Note: It is mandatory for employees to link their aadhaar card with their Universal Account Number (UAN). This has been established by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
So if you have a UAN number, you can link your EPF account with an aadhaar card, online as well as offline.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) provides an online facility of linking your aadhaar with your PF through their web page - Unified Portal of Employees' Provident Fund.
