Claim Process

The claim process is pretty simple with Reliance General Insurance. There is a simplified process which can be followed.

Motor Insurance Claim

Step 1: In case of a Motor Insurance Claim, you need to register the same by calling 1800-3009 and the Call Centre executive will take down the details and register your claim intimation

Step 2: The survey of your vehicle will be scheduled either at your residence or the garage as per mutually agreed location, date and time. That is when you need to submit the claim documents which consists of Claim Form, self-attested photocopy of the driving license of the driver, and the car papers, i.e. Certificate of registration, Tax Token, Pollution certificate, etc.

Step 3: Your surveyor will provide an approved quotation of the estimated cost that they are willing to pay for the damage caused

Step 4: The garage where your car is repaired will be intimated about the cost and you can either opt for cashless if the garage is a part of the network garages or otherwise pay the money upfront and get the same reimbursed according to the surveyor's decisions.

Please note, you cannot get your vehicle repaired first and then claim because it needs to be surveyed. Also, if the claim is due to an accident or a theft, an MCR (Motor Collision Report) or an FIR needs to be registered at the nearest police station as per process for the claim to be admitted.

Travel Insurance Claim

Step 1: In case of a Travel Insurance Claim, you need to intimate Reliance General Insurance within 24 hours of occurrence for claim to be admitted without which claim is considered invalid

Step 2: There are assistance phone numbers available worldwide for overseas travel wherein you can call and connect for a claim

Step 3: You may also choose to opt for a reimbursement claim. In that case all you need to do is to submit the Claim Form with the relevant documents at the mentioned addresses

Health Insurance Claim

Step 1: Once the doctor advises on hospitalization, you need to intimate the insurance company. For planned hospitalization, there is a pre-approval that needs to be taken. For emergency hospitalization, you can intimate the insurance company within 24 hours of hospitalization.

Step 2: For Cashless claim, you need to visit the TPA desk at the hospital and connect with them with the Insurance Card of the insured for cashless claim settlement within network hospitals. The TPA desk assists in the cashless claim and the balance amount, if any needs to be paid at the time of discharge, over and above the approved claim amount. For Reimbursement Claim, you need to submit the following documents within 15 days of discharge at Reliance General Insurance claim department:

  • Doctor's advise on hospitalization
  • Discharge summary from the hospital along with all original receipts and tests and invoices
  • Doctor's fit certificate

Home Insurance Claim

Step 1: In case of a Home Insurance Claim, you need to intimate the insurance company by dialing 1800-3009

Step 2: The surveyor appointed by the insurance company will visit the location within 2 days to estimate the extent of the damage for claim amount approval

Step 3: Once the surveyor submits his assessment report and claim form, the underwriters will approve a certain claim amount depending on the gravity of the claim damage

Step 4: The claim amount would be payable to the insured through NEFT

Office Insurance Claim

Step 1: In case of an Office Insurance Claim, you need to intimate the insurance company by dialing 1800-3009

Step 2: The surveyor appointed by the insurance company will visit the location to survey the loss and estimate the extent of the damage for claim amount approval. You also need to submit certain documents post the survey of the loss

Step 3: Once the surveyor submits his assessment report and claim form, the underwriters will approve a certain claim amount depending on the gravity of the claim damage

Step 4: The claim amount would be payable to the insured through NEFT if admissible else a regret letter with reason for denying the claim will be sent.
