Navi Corona Kavach Policy: Coverage and Inclusions

Coverage specified under Corona Kavach Policy by Navi is divided into two categories- the base cover (those offered to every policyholder by default) and the optional cover (not mandatory for every policyholder and is rather a choice). Here are the details of the same:

  • Hospitalisation expenses for Covid-19 Treatment: If the patient/insured is referred to the hospital for Covid-19 treatment by a medical practitioner, the following coverage will be provided to the insured by Navi health insurance:

    • Nursing expenses
    • Room rent
    • ICU/ICCU expenses
    • Fees of anaesthetist /surgeon/practitioner/consultant
    • Expenses Incurred on purchase of essentials like masks, gloves, PPE kit, etc.
    • Charges for blood, oxygen cylinder, ventilator, anesthesia, etc.
    • Expenses on medicines and drugs
    • Diagnostics charges
    • Road ambulance charges up to INR 2000.
  • Expenses Incurred on Home Care Treatment: Home care treatment, as the name suggests, is for Covid patients who have only low to mild symptoms and the doctor has advised only home care treatment. Following expenses are covered under Navi Corona Kavach Policy for a maximum of 14 days after the disease has been diagnosed:

    • Fees of the practitioner, consultant
    • Diagnostics charges
    • Medicines and drugs
    • Expenses on nebulizer, oximeter, oxygen cylinder
    • Nursing charges
  • Pre-hospitalisation Expenses: Prior to admitting the insured to the hospital for the treatment, if the insured receives home care treatment, the same is covered by Navi General Insurance. Medicines, consultation charges, drugs, diagnostics expenses, etc. Are all covered for a maximum of 15 days.

  • Post-hospitalisation Expenses: The patient still needs care and expenses are also incurred even after returning from the hospital. So, the admissible post-hospitalisation expenses are covered for a maximum of 30 days.

  • Ayush Treatment: Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, yoga, or Siddha can also be chosen for the treatment of Covid-19 patients. The charges for the same are also covered under Navi health insurance plans.

  • Hospital Cash Benefit (Optional Cover): The insured may choose or not choose to opt for this cover. Under this cover, 0.5% of the sum insured is provided to the insured for every 24 hours spent in the hospital.

Exclusions of Navi Corona Kavach Policy
