Corona Kavach Policy, offered by United India, needs individuals to fulfill some basic eligibility conditions, like:

Flexibility to choose the variant: You can choose either an individual plan or a family floater plan. The latter will cover all the members of the family under one sum insured and anyone can get coverage as and when required.
Waiting Period: A minimum of 15 days of the waiting period has to be served.
A shield of care: A wide range of coverage like Ayush treatment, pre, and post-hospitalisation, etc. is covered. Insured can also choose to purchase an optional coverage of hospital daily cash.
Home care expenses: Corona Kavach Policy also includes the expenses incurred during home care treatment when prescribed by your doctor.

Following is the coverage provided under Corona Kavach Policy
Ayush treatment: If the patient chooses to get the Covid treatment under Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, yoga, or Siddha, the expenses are covered by the company.
Pre-hospitalisation: The medical expenses incurred by the insured prior to 15 days of home care/hospitalisation treatment are also covered by the company.
Post-hospitalisation: The post-hospitalisation expenses refer to the medical expenses incurred by the insured after discharge from the hospital. It is provided for 30 days after discharge.
Covid home care treatment expenses: Not all patients are admitted to the hospital for Covid. Hence, the United India Corona Kavach Policy provides medical expenses of home care treatment up to 14 days after the disease has been diagnosed by an authorised diagnostics center.

Hospitalisation expenses for Covid: To avail the hospitalisation expense benefit, the patient must be admitted for a minimum of 24 hours in the hospital. All the admissible expenses, as mentioned in the policy documents, will be covered by United India in case the insured gets hospitalized for Covid. Up to the specified sum insured the insured can get the following coverage:
Hospital daily cash (optional): This is an optional policy benefit under which the insured gets 0.5% of the sum insured on a daily basis when continuously hospitalised for a specified period.
Not everything is not possible to cover under one plan and so, the following are the exclusions of United India Corona Kavach Policy:
The claim filing procedure can be of two types.
The first step is to inform your insurance provider, United India, about the medical emergency
For a cashless treatment, the patient must be taken to one of the impanelled hospitals of the company
The company will settle the bills with the hospital
You will only have to pay for the non-covered expenses
If the treatment is taken at a non-network hospital, a reimbursement claim can be raised. The insured needs to submit all his medical bills and other documents within a specific time limit for different types of treatment as mentioned below-
Hospitalisation and pre-hospitalisation expenses- Under 30 days
Post hospitalisation expenses- within 15 days
Home care expenses- Under 30 days

While cashless claims require minimal paperwork, the following documents are required for the claim process in case of reimbursement.
