YSR Aarogyasri is a healthcare scheme launched in the year 2007 by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. YS Rajashekar Reddy. The scheme was launched with the primary objective of providing medical assistance to low-income families in the state. Through this scheme, the residents of Andhra can get access to quality healthcare services. The scheme is managed by the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust. An Aarogyasri card is issued to the beneficiary who can avail the scheme benefits at the government hospitals to avail cashless treatment.

YSR Aarogyasri is a healthcare scheme launched by Dr. YSR Aarogyasri Health Care Trust for individuals who cannot afford to buy health insurance. The scheme offers Rs. 5 lakhs per family per annum. The overall implementation of the scheme is controlled by A senior IAS officer who is appointed as the CEO.

YSR Aarogyasri Scheme is a healthcare scheme launched for low-income earning families. The scheme provides the below benefits.

In-patient hospitalization

• The medical conditions or diseases listed under the scheme that require hospitalization are covered

Out-patient treatment

• Cashless treatments can be availed at health camps and in registered network hospitals

Cashless Service

• Beneficiaries of the plan can avail cashless treatment upto Rs. 5 lakh per year per family.

Pre-existing disease cover

• This refers to the disease that the beneficiary is suffering from at the time of policy purchase.

Follow-up treatments

• Cost of follow up therapies and procedures is covered under this scheme

Family floater health insurance

• Under this type of insurance, entire family is covered and one does not have to buy a seperate insurance cover for each member

• Gamma knife procedures in neurosurgery
• Liver transplantation
• Malaria

YSR Aarogyasri Scheme has the below eligibility criteria

• The covered individual should be a resident of Andhra Pradesh
• The family income should be less than 5 lakhs
• Applicant should be a holder of a white ration card
• Every applicant holding white ration card is automatically eligible to receive coverage under this scheme
• Applicant should not be owing a wet and dry land of more than 35 acres
• Applicant should be staying in less than 3000 sq.ft. of area
• Applicant cannot hold more than one car
• Private sector employees can also be beneficiaries of this scheme

• Reimbursement up to Rs. 1.5 lakh can be availed
