Jeevan Pramaan Life Certificate for Pensioners

The Jeevan Pramaan Life Certificate is a certificate for pensioners which states that the pensioner is alive and requires the continuation of their pension amount. Pension is usually disbursed on a monthly basis as a direct credit to the beneficiary’s bank account. The Jeevan Pramaan Life Certificate has to be submitted annually in the month of November. Retired employees who have contributed towards Employees’ Pension Scheme for more than 10 years are eligible for a monthly pension. The pensioner is required to submit a life certificate every year in the month of November to continue receiving a monthly pension. It acts as a proof that the pensioner is alive.

What is Jeevan Pramaan or Digital Life Certificate

Jeevan Pramaanor Digital Life Certificate is a service provided by the government. It is issued to government employees to help them receive their pension on a regular basis. It also acts as a proof that the pensioner is alive. Retired government employees have to submit this certificate every year to their pension disbursing agency. The Jeevan Pramaan or Digital Life Certificate includes biometric verification of pensioners of Central Government, State Governments or any other Government organization. In order to get his life certificate, the pensioner has to be physically present in front of the issuing authority/pension disbursing agency. In the case of senior citizens who cannot stand in a long line/queue, the government has created a digital life certificate or Jeevan Pramaan online.

How Jeevan Pramaan Works?

The following is the process of Jeevan Pramaan:

  • Pensioner Enrollment: The pensioner can either visit the online portal to register or visit a Jeevan Pramaan Centre for enrolment. The pensioner has to provide the following details such as Aadhaar number, Pension Payment Order (PPO), Bank account details and the mobile number.
  • Aadhaar Authentication: The pensioner will have to authenticate details using the Aadhaar biometric authentication.
  • Issue of Jeevan Pramaan: The Jeevan Pramaan or life certificate is issued online by the authority post proper authentication.
  • Life Certificate Repository: The Life Certificate is stored online.
  • Life Certificate Access: A pensioner can easily download their life certificate online via the mobile app or by visiting the Jeevan Pramaan website by entering the Jeevan Pramaan ID or Aadhaar number.
  • Pension Disbursing Online Delivery: The Jeevan Pramaan is delivered online to the pension disbursing agency without visiting the bank in person.

As a pensioner, you will be required to fill an application form to obtain a life certificate. The application form can be easily downloaded from the EPF portal. Details required for the application form are:

  1. Name of the Pensioner
  2. P.P.O Number
  3. Bank/Branch
  4. Savings Account Number
  5. Signature of the Pensioner
