Mysore RTO comes under the Motor Vehicles Department of the state of Karnataka. The regional transport department of Mysore is entrusted with the responsibility of swift working of the functions assigned to it under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The Mysore RTO is headed by a transport commissioner who is responsible for ensuring proper functioning of the road transport system in the city.
A car insurance policy is mandatory for every vehicle registered at Mysore RTO as per The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
