EPF members can now submit and access transfers/claim both offline and online in a few simple steps. This has made it super easy for employees who have no idea how to access their PF accounts. Online EPF claim status feature has made it simple for employees to check their EPF status and take action on it.

  • The feature allows them to check the claim status online at any time where they don't have to visit EPFO office.
  • It is a simple and hassle-free process which saves time to view claim status.
  • The system updates their EPF account status as and when they take any action.

How to Check EPF Claim Status

You can check EPF claim status online in a few simple steps.

  • Visit the official EFPO member portal.
  • Log in to the system with your UAN and password.
  • Click on the "Manage" tab and check your KYC details to make sure that they are correct.
  • Click on the "Online Service" tab to withdraw the fund.
  • Select “Claim” from the dropdown menu.
  • Choose “Proceed for claim” option from the claim screen that includes your KYC and PF details.
  • From “I want to apply” option, select the type of withdrawal you want such as partial withdrawal, pension withdrawal, final settlement, etc.
  • Once you select the withdrawal type, fill in the form and authenticate the same with your Aadhar card details.
  • The system will send an OTP (One-Time Password) to your registered mobile number. Enter that OTP to proceed.
  • Once you successfully make a claim for withdrawal, you can check your claim status by clicking on “Track claim” tab.

Steps to Check Status through UAN Member Portal

Employees with UAN (Universal Account Number), can now check the EPF balance and claim status using this number.

  • Visit passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemClaimStatusUAN/.
  • Fill in the UAN
  • Enter your mobile number
  • Enter the captcha code
  • Click on the "Search" button
  • Your member ID will be displayed as a link in the next page. Click on that link.
  • You can now view your claim status and other details related to your EPF claim.

Steps to Check Status through EPFO Website for Offline Applications

The status for transfer or withdrawal claims submitted offline in any of the PF offices can be viewed on EFPO website. There are two ways to monitor your EPF claim status for offline applications.

  1. With the help of UAN
  2. With the help of PF account number

Check EPF claim status with UAN

  • Visit passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemClaimStatusUAN/.
  • Click on "Know your claim status."
  • Enter the UAN and captcha code. All linked PF accounts will appear on the screen. Select the relevant PF account for which you have filed a claim.
  • The latest updated status of your claim will be displayed on the screen.

Steps to Check Status Using EPF Account Number

Check EPF claim with PF account number by following a few simple steps.

  • Visit www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/KYCS.php, and click on the “Click Here for Knowing the Claim Status” option.
  • Select the state in which your PF account is administered.
  • Select your city.
  • The first two boxes of your PF account number will be pre-filled. Fill up the rest of the boxes with the correct number.
  • Once you click enter, the latest claim status will appear on the screen.

Steps to Check Status through by Calling EPFO Customer Care

Members can check their EPF claim status by calling EPFO 24*7 customer care number – 1800 118 005. It is advisable to keep UAN or PF account number handy as the helpline officer will ask for the same to check the status of your EPF claim.

Steps to Check EPF Claim Status through the Umang App

EPF members can check their PF transfer/withdrawal status on the Umang app. For doing so, the member should have his/her mobile number updated with his/her UAN. To check your EPF claim status on Umang app, follow the below mentioned steps.

  • Open the Umang app and click on EPFO.
  • Choose the “Employee Centric Services” from the given options.
  • Select the “Track Claim” option.
  • Enter your UAN and click on "Get OTP."
  • The system will send an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OPT and click on the "Login" button.
  • All claims made under the UAN will be displayed on the screen. You can see the details such as tracking ID, claim type, raise claim date, and claim status.

Steps to Make PF Withdrawal Claim

EPF can be withdrawn either by

  • Submission of physical application for withdrawal or
  • Submission of an online application

Submission of physical application

Download the new composite claim (Aadhaar)/ composite claim (non-Aadhaar) form from www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/Downloads.php Fill up the new composite claim form and submit the same to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office. The employee attestation is not required in case of Aadhaar composite form. In the case of a non-Aadhaar composite form, the employer attestation is mandatory.

It is also important to note that in case of partial withdrawal of EPF amount for various circumstances, very recently, the requirement to furnish various certificates has been eliminated and the option of self-certification has been introduced for the EPS members.

Submission of an online application

EPFO has recently come up with an online facility of withdrawal and transfer which has made the entire claim process easier and efficient.

Prerequisite

To apply for withdrawal or transfer of EPF online through EPF portal, make sure you meet the following conditions:

  1. UAN (Universal Account Number) is activated, and the mobile number is registered with UAN.
  2. KYC is completed for the UAN. Your Aadhaar, PAN, bank account details along with IFSC code are linked with your UAN. If the above conditions are fulfilled, then the requirement of attestation of the previous employee to process the claim withdrawal can be eliminated.

Steps to apply for EPF withdrawal online

  • Visit the UAN portal unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
  • Log in with your UAN and password.
  • Enter the captcha.
  • Click on the tab “Manage” and select “KYC” to check if your KYC details such as PAN card, Aadhaar card, and bank details are correct.
  • Once you verify the KYC details, click on “Online Services” and choose “Claim” option from the dropdown menu.
  • The screen will display details such as KYC details and service details. Click on “Proceed for online claim” tab to submit your claim form.
  • In the claim form, select the claim type you want – full EPF settlement, EPF partial withdrawal, or pension withdrawal, under the “I want to apply for” tab. If the subscriber is not eligible for any particular services like PF withdrawal, then such option will not be shown in the dropdown menu.

How can I check my pension status?

You can check your Pension Payment Order status provided by the central pension accounting officer. You can use the 12-digit PPO number to check the pension status online.

How can I check my PF balance through a missed call?

Give a missed call on 011 229 01 406, and you will receive an SMS that will contain your PF number, name, age, and PF balance. This facility is free of cost and available only for UAN members.

How can I check my PF balance through SMS?

If you are UAN activated member, you can check their PF balance available with EPFO by sending an SMS at 7738299899 from your registered mobile number. You need to send SMS “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899.

How can I claim my PF amount?
