EPF Withdrawal Claim Form

An Employee Provident Fund Withdrawal Claim Form is an application form which is required for making a withdrawal from your EPF Account in cases of unemployment or retirement. This form is also called Form 19 and can be easily downloaded from the official website of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation. As per Form 19, an individual can withdraw 75% of their EPF balance after one month of unemployment and the remainder 25% can be withdrawn post 2 months of employment.

EPF Withdrawal Forms

The three types of withdrawal forms are:

  • PF Advance/Partial Withdrawal (Form 31): This form lets you withdraw money in case of an emergency during the unemployment period. In case of unemployment, you are required to fill Form 31 and the purpose of withdrawal has to be mentioned on the application form. Some of the acceptable reason for withdrawal can be wedding, higher education, medical treatment, etc.
  • EPF Complete Withdrawal/Final Settlement (Form 19): This form lets you withdraw the entire accumulated amount at the time of retirement. You will be required to provide the following details - Date of leaving, the reason of leaving services, date of joining services, PAN, UAN and Aadhaar Number, bank account details, full postal address, etc.
  • Pension Withdrawal (Form 10C): This form lets you withdraw the pension amount. If you are withdrawing your PF because of unemployment, you have to fill Form 31 and Form 10 C. Thus, if you want to withdraw both the EPF and pension amounts, you will have to fill the two forms separately.

EPF Withdrawal Online Procedure

You can follow these steps to make an online EPF withdrawal:

  1. Visit the official website of EPFO and login with your registered UAN ID and Password.
  2. Select the online services section and click on Claim (Form 31, 19 and C)
  3. The next page with showcase your details. In this page, you will be asked to submit the last 4 digits of your bank account for verification.
  4. Click on ‘Yes’ to sign the certificate of undertaking.
  5. Select Proceed for Online Claim then click on PF Advance (Form 31).
  6. Select the reason - purpose for which advance is required.
  7. Submit the details along with a scanned copy of the requested documents.
  8. Post submission, your employer has to approve your withdrawal request, after which the money will be withdrawn from your EPF account. It will be deposited in the bank account mentioned at the time of filling the withdrawal form. Once the request has been approved, the EPF amount will be credited to your bank account within 15-20 days.

Note: For online withdrawal, ensure that your Aadhaar card, PAN, mobile number are seeded to the EPFO database.
