Bharti AXA Smart Personal Accident Policy is a personal accident disability plan which offers benefit in case of accident related death or disability. Under this benefit a compensatory lump sum amount is provided to the insured by the insurer in case of accident related death or disability. This lump sum amount is dependent on the severity of the injury.
Plan variants –
There are three variants of this plan each having different coverage amount (INR 10,00,000; INR 20,00,000 and INR 30,00,000).
Scope of cover –
This plan is available for employed individuals between age 18 years to 65 years. Individuals falling under low risk occupation groups (group 1 and group 2) are covered under this policy on an individual basis.
Sum insured values –
In case of death due to accident compensation of INR 10,00,000; INR 20,00,000 and INR 30,00,000 is provided under this health insurance plan.

Double sum insured in case of death or permanent total disability while travelling in a public transport for sum insured INR 30,00,000.
Daily cash of INR 1000 per day for a maximum of 50 days after hospitalization exceeds 2 days is provided as value added benefit for sum insured INR 30,00,000.

The Bharti AXA Smart Personal Accident policy offers benefits like:
ACCIDENTAL DEATH –
Death, only resulting from an accident is covered up to 100% of sum insured when it is within 12 calendar months of an accident.
PERMANENT TOTAL DISABILITY –
A consequential injury caused by an accident that results in permanent total disability is covered under this benefit as long as it occurs within 12 months from the date of an accident. The compensation in the range of 100 to 150% of sum insured, depending on the part of the body affected is provided in such cases.
Example- In case of you lose both the eyes a compensation up to 150% of sum insured is provided while in case of loss of all the fingers compensation up to 100% of sum insured is provided.
PERMANENT PARTIAL DISABILITY –
A consequential injury caused by an accident that results in partial disability is covered under this benefit as long as it occurs within 12 months. The compensation in the range of 2 to 75 % of sum insured depending on the part of body affected is provided in such cases.
Example- Loss of speech is covered up to 50% of sum insured while loss of index finger- one phalanx is covered up to 5% of sum insured.
TEMPORARY TOTAL DISABILITY –
A consequential injury caused by an accident that prevents one from pursuing his/her occupation is covered under this benefit as long as it’s within 12 months. The compensation equals 1% of sum insured (up to a maximum of INR 10,000 per week) for a maximum of 104 weeks.

Value added benefits –
The Bharti AXA Smart Personal Accident plan offers value added benefits like:
1. Hospital daily cash –
Under this benefit a daily cash up to INR 1000 per day for a maximum of 50 days is provided after the hospitalization exceeds 72 hours. This benefit is applicable only for sum insured of INR 30,00,000.
2. Double indemnity –
Under this benefit insured individuals travelling in public transport as passenger during accident is covered. In such cases a compensation equal to 200% of sum insured is provided. This benefit is applicable only for sum insured of INR 30,00,000.
