Benefits of LIC Jeevan Arogya

  • Hospital Cash Benefit - This is a daily benefit amount payable in case of an accident or sickness where you have been required to stay in the hospital for a continuous period of 24 hours or part thereof, provided any such part stay exceeds a continuous period of 4 hours (after having completed the 24 hours as above) in a non-ICU ward/room of a hospital.

  • Day Care Procedure Benefit - This is a lump sum amount (5x of the Daily Benefit) payable to the patient irrespective of the actual cost. This is provided in order to meet expenses arising out of any day care procedures.

  • Major Surgical Benefit - If a particular surgery is covered under Major Surgical Benefit, the respective benefit percentage is paid to the patient in case of surgery, accidental injury or illness.

  • Other Surgical Benefit - In case a conducted surgery is not covered under the policy, a daily benefit which is 2x the applicable daily benefit will be paid to the policyholder for an extended period of 24 hours.

  • Ambulance Benefit - Under this plan, you will be provided emergency transportation costs (up to ₹1,000) to cover ambulance expenses whenever a major surgery is not successful.

  • Premium Waiver Benefit - In case of an event where Major Surgical Benefits falls under Category 1 or Category 2, your entire annualized premium for one year will be waived off.

What is Not Covered in LIC Jeevan Arogya Plan?

How to Claim LIC Jeevan Arogya Policy?

In order to make a claim under this policy, a duly filled claim form along with original/attested copy of the following documents need to be submitted. The attestation of the photocopied documents will be accepted if done by the treating Doctor/Hospital or by the TPA or by authorized personnel of the Corporation after verification of the originals:

  • Discharge card with details of treatment received, diagnosis and investigation done as well as the correct date and time of admission and discharge from hospital.
  • Copy or summary of surgeon's operation notes where surgical intervention is done (in case the claimant has undergone a surgery).
  • A death summary in case of death of the patient while under treatment.
  • Certificate from physician as under clause 19(vi) above.
  • Bills of expenses as proof of expenses during hospitalisation and/or Surgery (including emergency ambulance).
  • Proof of age, if the age is not admitted earlier.
  • Any other document that may be called for in the course of claim evaluation

You are entitled to income tax benefits for premiums paid up to ₹25,000 for normal citizens and ₹50,000 for senior citizens under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act 1961.

Waiting Period under LIC Jeevan Arogya Plan

General Waiting Period

  • The general waiting period is 90 days from the date of policy commencement with respect to each insured individual.

  • There will be no waiting period in case of hospitalization or surgery arising out of accidental bodily injury.

  • If you have placed a request for revival, which is received by LIC within 90 (ninety) days from the due date of the first unpaid premium, there shall be a general waiting period of 45 (forty-five) days from the Date of Revival in respect of each insured.

  • If the request for revival is received by LIC post 90 (ninety) days from the due date of the first unpaid premium, there shall be a general waiting period of 90 (ninety) days from the Date of Revival in respect of each Insured.

Specific Waiting Period

  • The specific waiting period shall be 2 (two) years from the date of policy cover commencement with respect to each insured individual.

  • If you have placed a request for revival, which is received by LIC within less than 90 (ninety) days from the due date of the first unpaid premium, the specific waiting period shall continue to be till 2 (two) years from the date of cover commencement in respect of each Insured.

  • If the request for revival is received by LIC after 90 (ninety) days from the due date of the first unpaid premium, there shall be a specific waiting period of 2 (two) years from the Date of Revival in respect of each Insured.
