Triumph Adventure

General Information:

The Adventure series from Triumph is designed and marketed as hard-core off-road and touring motorcycles that have the ability to take its rider to untouched terrains and locations, without bothering him / her from any discomfort or fatigue. In order to achieve this aim, the manufacturers have loaded the bike with features and equipments that help enhance rider comfort and convenience. The biggest taking point about the motorcycles from this series are their suspension systems that are designed and programmed to offer a balanced ride over a wide and diverse range of terrains. Currently, the Adventure series can be classified in two major products, the Triumph Tiger 800, and the Triumph Tiger Explorer.

  • The Tiger motorcycles are designed to proudly announce the motive behind their presence. One look at the bikes make it apparent that they adorn the ‘go-anywhere’ characteristics
  • Both bikes have a higher seat height and relatively larger wheel that help in high sped stability, specially on longer drives
  • Segment topping ground clearance figures ensure that the Tiger bikes do not touch their belly often, even when subjected to off-road terrains
  • The bikes are characterised by a higher seat height, dual headlamps, rat bike like front fender, exposed chassis frame, and massive exhaust
  • The road presence is further accentuated by its massive dimensions, specially that of the top-of-the-line Tiger Explorer

Power & Performance:

Engineers at Triumph Motorcycles have tuned and tweaked the engine, keeping in mind the basic off-road requirements. As a result, the torque punch is set deep down the rev range so that the bike can avoid getting stuck in tricky conditions.

Braking & Handling:

  • Despite being focussed as an off-road motorcycle, the Tiger bikes feature a suspension setup that is tuned to handle long journeys as well
  • Higher ground clearance further ensures the bike does not touch any large speed breakers or powtoles, even in remote villages and off-road conditions
  • A heavier weight and longer wheelbase make the bike a nuisance in city conditions. It further shows reluctance to bend under hard cornering
  • Disc brakes on the front and rear provide enough bite and feedback in emergence braking conditions

What To Opt For:

  • Expensive and high capacity motorcycles like those from the Triumph Adventure series demand a zero-depreciation cover to take care of costly repairs and maintenance
  • With increasing cases of premium bike thefts, an Anti-Theft package is highly recommended to limit the damages borne under worst case scenarios
  • A comprehensive cover can further enhance your ownership experience, while the bike munches a respectable number of miles on its odometer
