Hero MotoCorp Ignitor

General Information:

The Ignitor was launched in the year 2012, after Hero and Honda broke apart, and started their individual journeys as hard-core rivals. The above break-up prompted Hero to use some of the bikes in Hero-Honda’s previous portfolio, albeit with some changes. Therefore, the Ignitor was born through significant cosmetic tweaking on its sibling, the Honda Stunner. Though Ignitor and Stunner share the same platform and genes, the former edges ahead due to a more mature overall package

  • Redesigned graphics, new front cowl, and body coloured rear-view mirrors help give Ignitor its own individuality, and sets it apart from the Stunner
  • 5-Spoke alloy wheels, along with blacked out engine block and exhaust pipe, and dual split seats provide dynamism to the bike’s side profile
  • Hero offers five colour schemes on the Ignitor : pearl white, matt axis grey, sports red, panther black metallic, and moon yellow
  • The rear profile is characterised by a higher mounted tail section with body-coloured grab handles, while the taillights are conventional bulb units
  • Dimensionally, the Ignitor is 2010 mm long, 710 mm wide, and 1095 mm tall

Power & Performance:

Being a street fighter and every day commuter, the Ignitor gets enough grunts from its engine to get the owner from point A to point B, while attacking occasional small gaps in city traffic. Expose the bike to an empty stretch of road and every larger throttle input showcases an apparent lack of power at higher revs.

Braking & Handling:

  • Though the rear gets a standard drum brake, Hero MotoCorp does provide an optional front disc, with a diameter of 240 mm
  • Despite being split seats, they are well padded and provide a comfortable ride quality for both the rider and pillion
  • Forward set foot pegs, and rider inclined handlebars result in a comfortable and commanding riding posture
  • There is adequate amount of room to lock your knees across the bike, thanks to the chubby fuel tank and semi faired fender
  • Significant vibrations filter through the foot pegs at higher revs, making long highway trips tiring

What To Opt For:

  • A bike like the Ignitor will spend majority of its lifetime in stop-go city traffic. Therefore, a third party insurance will help in tackling minor scratches and dents on third party vehicles
  • A comprehensive package always marks an advantage in every vehicle ownership tenure
  • ·Opting for an anti-theft policy can come in handy while dealing with mischievous situations
