General Information:

TVS is presently the only two wheeler company in the country that still manufacturers mopeds. The XL is an extremely long running two-stroke moped, that has been serving diverse range of customers in the Indian two-wheeler industry. When the two-wheeler scene was still under its initial phases in India, TVS XL was one of the most promising and popular products that used to sell like hot cakes. Over the years, sales of the XL have steadily declined, and it is currently sold mostly in the rural market.

  • Taking about design of the XL, it is fairly modest and minimalistic, and adorns not even a single faring or body panel that is not essential to a functioning element
  • A basic round headlamp, sleek footwell, tiny seats, and spoke wheels give it a naked look
  • Subtle graphics on the side profile add a pinch of dynamism to the moped, while breaking the monotonous paint shade
  • It comes in three plain color shades of blue, red and silver
  • The XL is compactly designed, and has dimensional figures of 2020 mm x 750 mm x 1110 mm (L x W x H)

Power & Performance:

Despite having one of the tiniest engines currently available on any production vehicle in Inida, the moped accelerates fairly nicely in the initial figures, owing to a lighter construction. But once exposed to an open stretch of road, the XL feels significantly underpowered.

Braking & Handling:

  • Higher set handlebars and perpendicular foot pegs have resulted in a ideal riding stance
  • The seats lack sufficient padding, and thus feel hard and dis-comfortable, specially during long journeys or large traffic hours
  • Light weight and small wheelbase enhance the XL maneuverability in dense city traffic
  • Though the front and rear drum brakes are enough to handle the offered power, the skinny tires do not inspire confidence to the rider

What To Opt For:

  • A comprehensive cover ensures that your relationship with the moped remains intact, despite the number of kilometers clocked
  • ·An Anti-Theft cover can further immune the owner from any probable losses from theft
