Reliance Private Car Insurance Coverage

Reliance Private Car Insurance Policy can be tailor-made to insure any private vehicle. Reliance Motor Insurance policy covers Own Damage car insurance and also, Third-party liability insurance, which helps car owners at the time when needed – in case of any accident or mishaps.

Types of coverage

Own Damage:

This policy cover any damage or loss to the owner’s car due to any of the following things:

  • Accident Fire
  • Lightening
  • Self-Ignition
  • Explosion
  • Theft, Riots & Strikes and / or Malicious Acts and Terrorism
  • Earthquake, Flood Cyclone
  • Inundation Transit by Rail, Road, Air & Elevator

Third Party or Liability:

This policy is mandatory by the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, it is provided by Reliance Private Car Insurance Policy which covers any injuries or property damages to the third party. Personal Accident Cover: The Owner-Driver personal accident cover of Sum Insured Rs. 2 lakhs in case of permanent total disability or an accidental death is covered with a premium of Rs.100 Optional Covers:

  • Passenger Personal Accident cover: Passenger Personal Accident cover can be availed with 100 Rs/person for a Sum Insured of Rs.2,00,000 for each of the occupants.
  • Legal liability for Paid driver: Liability cover with a premium of 50 Rs/annually for the paid-driver

Add-on Features of Reliance Car Insurance

Add-on cover includes NCB Retention, Personal Accident Bundle, Nil Depreciation, Consumables, Engine Cover and Key Protect Cover.

NCB Retention

No Claim Bonus is a discount on the premium rewarded to the owner of the insured vehicle if the owner does not claim during a policy period. For instance, if you do not claim in the first year, you get 20% off on the premium of the second year. This discounts is cumulative and keeps on increasing with claim free years. But if you lodge a claim, this discount drops to zero and you do not get No Claim Bonus (NCB) discount on the premium for the next year, until you complete a claim free year. To retain this drop of NCB to zero, you can buy this add-on cover which ensures your NCB is retained and does not drop to zero, even after a claim. You can add this as an add-on cover offered by Reliance General Insurance if you insured your private vehicle with Private Car Insurance policy. Specific Conditions: For any private vehicle age of 2 years old or above. Your NCB should be at least 25% i.e. at least 2 claim free years to retain your NCB with NCB Retention. Only one approved claim is made during policy period. Policy must be renewed with Reliance General Insurance, within 90 days of expiry of policy, as it the grace period to retain NCB.

Personal Accident Bundle Cover

This is an additional add-on cover by Reliance General Insurance that provides you an automobile insurance cover against accidents anywhere in the world regardless of who is driving the car. Under this cover, you are insured against Accidental Death and Permanent Total Disablement. Further details are shown in table below:

There are two Different Plans

  • Motor Secure Plus Cover: It has three (3) add-on covers – Nil Depreciation, Consumables Cover, and Engine Cover.

  • Motor Secure Premium Cover: It has an four (4) add-on covers – Nil Depreciation, Consumables, Engine Cover, and Key Protect Cover.

Each of this cover are described below:

Nil Depreciation Cover

To combat the depreciating value this add-on cover comes handy at the time of claim. With Nil Depreciation Cover on your side, the cost of depreciable car parts such as metal and plastic parts, rubber, nylon, wooden, fiber, etc. are at bay.

Note:

  • This cover is for private cars

  • Maximum two claims during a policy period is allowed

  • In case of partial loss, the repair must be settle only at an authorized garage

  • This cover covers on cost of depreciable car parts, compulsory deductibles are applicable

Consumables Cover

Consumables such as nuts and bolts, screws, grease, lubricants, AC gas, engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, brake oil, etc. cost ample of money at the time of claim. With this cover the expenses on such consumables in case of any damage or loss due to any perils as covered under policy wordings are covered for the insured vehicles.

  • This cover is for private cars.

  • Maximum two claims during a policy period is allowed

Engine Cover

Engine is a very crucial and costly part of any car. Any damage to the part of Engine or Gear Box can dig a hole in your pocket. But with Reliance Engine add-on cover the expenses incurred in repairing and fixing any damage done to the engine by water ingression, leakage of lubricating oil is covered.

It covers:

  • Engine Parts

  • Differential Parts

  • Gear Box Parts Note: The coverage is available only for the claims intimated within 7 days of the loss or damage.

Key Protect Cover – Private Cars

This add-on cover comes with huge benefits, especially, when it comes to repairing or replacing the car keys, locks, lockset, and additionally, the locksmith's charges. The claim can be made in case of theft, burglary, or loss and/or damage to the keys, lock, and lockset due to the natural or man-made perils as mentioned in policy wordings with a maximum of two claims in a policy period. Note:

  • The coverage will be available only for a maximum of two claims during your motor insurance policy period

  • A First Information Report (FIR) is compulsory in case of theft or burglary at the time of claim

  • The replacement of keys, lock and/ or complete lockset should be same type and kind as of lost or damaged one

  • The claim is only accepted if it is reported within the 7 days of the event causing loss or damage

Exclusions of Reliance Car Insurance

  • Any wear-and-tear of the car due to aging
  • Any mechanical and electrical breakdown
  • Private cars used for remuneration purpose is not covered
  • Driving without a valid driving license
  • Loss or damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating substance
  • Loss or damage due to depreciation of the car's value
  • Loss or damage due to war or nuclear risks
  • Consequential loss - if the original damage causes subsequent damage / loss, only the original damage will be covered under our motor car insurance.
  • Compulsory deductibles - a fixed amount that gets deducted at the time of the claim.

a) In case of Accident

  • Lodge a claim with duly signed Claim Form
  • Copy of Driving License, RC book, Policy document
  • FIR, if required (Kindly note down, contact details of people and vehicle number involved in accident)
  • Original Repair Estimate Bill
  • In case of cashless service, only Invoice receipt
  • In case of reimbursement provide estimate bill, original invoice and payment receipt

b) In case of Theft

  • Immediately contact Reliance Motor Insurance on their toll-free number 1800 3009
  • Lodge the claim with duly signed claim form
  • Original keys with Copy of Driving License, RC book, Policy document
  • Police FIR copy
  • Duly signed Form 28, 29, 30 and Form 35.
  • Final confirmation with “No Trace Report” of the insured vehicle from the police

c) In case of Third Party Claims

Step-wise guide to claim:

  1. The first things to make a claim is to call on Reliance General Insurance’s Toll-Free Helpline number - 1800 3009

  2. Take appointment with the surveyor and take your vehicle to any of Reliance General Insurance authorized network garages for repair, for cashless service. Submit the require documents to the surveyor

  3. Company confirms liability

  4. If possible, opt for cashless facility, the company will settle the repair bills directly with the garage up to the amount payable

  5. But in case you do not opt for cashless facility, you have to pay for the repair charges and then submit the bills with claim form to the surveyor/company for settlement
