Types of coverage
Inundation Transit by Rail, Road, Air, Waterways & Elevator
Third Party or Liability: This policy has been made mandatory by the Motor Vehicle Act 1988, it is provided by TATA AIG Private Car Insurance Policy that covers any injuries or property damages to the third party.
Personal Accident Cover: Coverage with a Sum Insured of Rs. 2 lakh for the owner-driver in case of a permanent total disability or an accidental death on a premium of Rs.100.
Passenger Personal Accident cover: Passenger Personal Accident cover can be availed with 100 Rs/person for a Sum Insured of Rs.2,00,000 for each of the occupants.
Legal liability for Paid driver: Liability cover with a premium of 50 Rs/annually for the paid-driver
Depreciation Re-imbursement Cover
TATA AIG will pay you the amount of depreciation deducted on the value of depreciable car parts, such as , rubber, plastic, metal, nylon, etc. if replaced or repaired under own damage claim of the policy. TATA AIG will pay for the first 2 claims reported during the policy period. Special Condition: Provided all the repairs are done at TATA AIG authorized garage.
No Claim Bonus (NCB) Protection Cover
No Claim Bonus is the discount you can avail pertaining to the condition that you didn’t lodge any claim in the policy period. For first “no-claim” year you get 20% discount on the premium to be paid for the second year. This is cumulative and thus, keeps on increasing with number of “no-claim” years. You can fetch up to 50% of discount for 5 consecutive no-claim years. Note:
Standalone windscreen glass or rear, glass or door glasses, sun roof glass, claims will not be considered as a claim.
Claim of partial theft will not considered as a claim under this cover.
A claim of a theft for an entire vehicle will not be considered as a claim under this cover, unless the policyholder purchase new car within 90 days and get insurance from TATA AIG.
Special condition: More than one Own Damage claim is not applicable.
Consumable Expenses Cover
TATA AIG will cover expenses for consumables (brake oil, nuts, bolts, screws, washers, lubricating oil, etc except tyres and tubes) and replacement or replenishment arising from an accident or any other perils as mentioned in the Own Damage section of policy wordings.
Provided the repairs are done at a TATA AIG authorized garage.
Engine Secure Cover
TATA AIG will pay you repair and replacement expenses for the loss or damage to -
Internal parts of the engine
Gear Box, Transmission or Differential Assembly
However, the above parts will be covered only if the loss or damage has been caused due to water ingression in the engine or leakage of lubricating oil from engine. TATA AIG will also pay for the lubricating oils or consumables used in the respective assembly i.e. material, which is used up and needs continuous replenishment such as engine oil, gear box oil etc.
Please Note: TATA AIG shall not indemnify you under this endorsement in respect of-
Loss or damage covered under manufacturer warranty; this by no way covers loss or repair in case of maintenance or preventive maintenance of car.
If the policyholder delays to intimate TATA AIG about the same, or delays to remove the insured car from incident location.
Tyre Secure Cover
TATA AIG will covers the incurred cost for repair, replacement of tube(s) and tyre(s) as per the requirement due to the accidental loss or damage to tyres and tubes.
The replacement of tyre shall be allowed on the criteria that the replaced is of the same make and specification. In case similar type of tyre is not available, the cost of the replaced tyre should not be higher or of superior quality than the original one. Maximum of 4 (four) replacements will be allowed during the Period of Insurance. This add-on does not cover:
Natural wear & tear
Any loss or damage within first 15 days of inception of the policy
Any loss or damage occurred prior to inception of the policy
Any loss or damage resulting in to total loss of vehicle
Routine maintenance including adjustment, alignment, balancing or rotation of wheels/tyres/tubes.
Loss or damage to wheel accessories, any other part or rim
Theft of tyre(s)/tube(s) or its parts accessories without vehicle being stolen or theft of entire vehicle
Provided the repairs are done at the authorized garage.
Key Replacement Cover
Key Replacement – TATA AIG will reimburse you for the cost of replacing insured vehicle keys which are lost or stolen. Break-in Protection – TATA AIG will reimburse you for the cost of replacing locks and keys, including labour charges, if the insured vehicle is broken into.
Please note: Costs other than those listed above section are not covered and additionally, the cost to replace keys of vehicles that is not owned for personal use.
Road Side Assistance Cover
It's a service facilitated to take care of your vehicle and your worries in an unfortunate event of your vehicle meeting with an accident or breakdown. Some of the benefits are as follows: Service for Flat Tyre, Flat Battery – Jump Start Service, Repair on the spot, Fuel Support (Emergency fuel delivery), Emergency towing assistance, Spare Key Retrieval/Service for key locked inside, Continuation/Return Journey (Taxi Support) This add-on does not Covers:
Loss of or damage to luggage or other personal effects that might occur during the services performance. (Check loss of personal belongings cover)
Vehicles should not be used for the purpose of racing, rallying, motor-sports, or in any instance where the Vehicle is not being used in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Return to Invoice
TATA AIG will pay in case car gets stolen or completely damaged, you get the reimbursement of insured car’s invoice price, including registration charges and road tax.
Special conditions applicable to this benefit:
a) You are the first registered owner of the motor vehicle
b) The finance company/bank whose interest is endorsed on the policy must agree in writing.
Special Condition: No Trace Report from the police needs to be submitted, confirming the theft of the insured vehicle, in case of theft claim.
This cover reduces the inconvenience that may arise if the car is in garage for repair for more than 24 hours or in case of theft. Under this cover, TATA AIG will pay the cost of a hire vehicle for 8 hours or 80 km whichever is lesser.
TATA AIG will reimburse the cost of Courtesy/hire within 10 days in case of repair and 15 days in case of theft.
Courtesy/hire vehicle will arrive within 24 hrs of intimation and by no means will the hired vehicle be the exact replacement of the insured vehicle, in terms of size, make model, etc.
If the hired hire vehicle is not available, TATA AIG will pay the travel cost.
Applicable only when the repair is done at authorized garage.
TATA AIG offers reimbursement in case the insured car gets damaged partially, totally or is lost due to theft. However, the repair must be done at the authorized garage to be eligible for claims. The allowance will be decided on the consensus by the policyholder, surveyor and the workshop manager.
TATA AIG will reimburse the cost of courtesy/hire within 10 days in case of repair and 15 days in case of theft.
The Daily allowance will not be payable if time required for repair of motor vehicle is up to 3 days.
Loss of Personal Belongings
This covers the cost for the loss or damage to the personal belongings kept inside the insured vehicle at the time of any perils mentioned under Own Damage section of the policy wordings or due to an accident. Personal belongings for the purpose of this section means items such as clothes and other articles of personal nature likely to be worn, used or Special conditions:
Few things are not covered - money, securities, cheques, bank drafts, credit or debit cards, jewellery, lens, glasses, travel tickets, watches, valuables, manuscripts, paintings and other similar items.
Any goods or samples carried in connections with any trade or business is not covered.
The policyholder will have to bear Rs. 250 of each and every claim under this section.
Repair Glass, Fiber, Plastic & Rubber Parts
A claim only for glass/plastic/rubber/fiber part provided only repair is done and no replacement, at an authorised workshops, dealers or service stations of TATA AIG. Only repair and no replacement are included under this facility.
Additionally, it will not affect the No Claim Bonus eligibility at the time of policy renewal provided the number of such claim does not exceed more than one and there is no other claim for own damage to the vehicle during the period of insurance.
Special conditions: Cost of painting of these parts without any repair is not covered.

No-claim bonus is a discount offered on the next year’s premium.
If you make no claims throughout the year, you are benefitted with the huge discount on the next year’s premium.
For the first year, a discount of 20% on the second year’s premium will be offered on not making a claim in the first year. The discount rate increases every policy year, as per the table below.

Take appointment with the surveyor and take your vehicle to any of TATA AIG General Insurance authorized network garages for repair, for cashless service. Submit the require documents to the surveyor
