UPDATE: New District Registration: If you live in Hnahthial, Saitual, or Khawzawl and currently have an MZ-01 or MZ-02 registration, the Director of Transport (Er. R. Lalrammawia) has announced a grace period through 2026 to update your vehicle code to the new district codes (MZ-10 to MZ-12) without heavy penalties, provided you obtain an NOC from your original RTO.

In Mizoram, road tax is a statutory levy imposed by the state government on all motor vehicles registered within the state under the Mizoram Motor Vehicles (Taxation) Act. It must be paid annually (or as prescribed) to legally use your vehicle on public roads and fund road maintenance and transport infrastructure.
You can pay your road tax online through the Parivahan Sewa / VAHAN portal, which is the official system used by RTOs and the Transport Department.
Visit the Parivahan Sewa portal (parivahan.gov.in).
Go to Online Services → Vehicle Related Services.
Select Tax & Fee and choose Mizoram from the state list.
