The regional transport office of Vasai-Virar works under the provisions of section 213(1) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Vasai-Virar RTO comes under Maharashtra state vehicles department and is headed by a transport commissioner. The main objective of Vasai-Virar RTO is to implement various road safety measures for the betterment of its citizens. Vasai-Virar offers various transport related services such as registration of vehicles, collection of road taxes, issuance of permits, renewal of driving license and others.
